Working with the girls.

When a cat curls up on you and purrs its pretty mesmerizing.  Its like the cat gives a stern "Be still," and I obey resulting in total relaxation.  The dogs are more akin to my personality jumping around like fools (all of us), but the cat in his catty way makes me work on his terms.  Bees are like that too.

Every time I work with my girls I bring a camera because I really want to show you whats going on in there.  Its fascinating, beautiful, and mesmerizing in a way that would make my cat feel like less of a feline.  First I check in with the guards at the entrance and give them some sugar syrup for safe passage.  This close is where the hum consumes me and instead of receiving the command of "be still" I just am.  Not my body of course, but my mind.  There is work to be done.  I spray a bit of the syrup mixed with lemongrass and chamomile, and completely forget about anything else.  My whole body experiences a clarity as the hive hums and swarms around me.  Surprisingly, sticking my hands into 20,000 stinging insects totally relaxes me, and the camera sits completely forgotten.
